PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock mechanism which can be locked manually and unlocked with a plastic-made simple plate type key, is small-sized, lightweight, and inexpensive, and used for a self-sounding article monitoring tag. SOLUTION: A male lock member is inserted into the open leg part of a female lock member to engage and lock the lock engagement parts 15 and 16 of both members; and a leg part 20 of an unlock key in a two-leg type fork shape is pressed in a manner of clamping the male lock member (a) and then a projection 21 inside the leg part of the unlock key abuts against the male lock member to spread the leg part of the unlock key and the open leg part 17 of the female lock member abutting against the leg part 20 of the unlock key outward (b), so that the lock engagement parts are disengaged. Further, the projection inside the leg part of the unlock key intrudes a recessed part 26 of the male lock member at the time of unlocking and when the unlock key is drawn out, the male lock member is drawn out together (d). In the self- sounding type tag lock mechanism, a projection is formed on the top surface of the male lock member and switching ON and OFF is performed by engaging the projection.
