PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease deterioration in the picture quality with time caused near the frame region of an image display region due to the deformation of an adhesive with time in an electrooptical device in which various kinds of planer members such as a microlens array plate are adhered to substrates such as a cover glass, counter substrate and device substrate. SOLUTION: An electrooptical device equipped with a cover glass 200, a counter substrate 20 having a microlens array adhered with a photosetting adhesive 210 to the cover glass in the image display region and the frame region which regulates the edge of the display region, and a light-shielding case 300 to cut the display light in the frame region. In the production of the aforementioned device, the adhesive after hardened is subjected to ageing treatment by irradiation of specified quantity of light or heat, and then the counter substrate is laminated with a device substrate 10 and housed in a case.
