The seat mounting for a motor vehicle has a horizontal anchor rod (12) fixed o the seat, which traverses a hole (15) in a fixing foot (14) attached to the floor of the vehicle. The rod is retained by a clip (19) of V-shaped profile which straddles the foot and which has an engagement wall (20) parallel to the foot and an elastic tongue (22) extending from the wall as far as the foot. The tongue fits into a seating in the rod.
