PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte for an electronics field such as a battery or a sensor device, having anisotropy in ionic conductivity. SOLUTION: This electrolyte containing a metal salt and a compound having at least one kind of discotic mesogen group and a polar side chain has anisotropy in ionic conductivity. The polar side chain is a side chain containing two or more ether linkages. The discotic mesogen group is selected from a 3- or 6-substituted benzene ring, a triphenylene ring, a truxene ring, a phthalocyanine ring, a porphyrin ring, a tribenzocyclononene ring and a tetrabenzocyclododecylene ring, while the metal salt is an alkaline metal salt. |
