PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To significantly shorten the production time by omitting the production processes and changing the order of the production processes in the production of a large-size liquid crystal display device, and to obtain a large-size liquid crystal display panel showing little variance in the quality and no irregular display state. SOLUTION: In the production process of a liquid crystal display device consisting of a pair of substrates at least one of which is transparent and a liquid crystal compsn. layer interposed between the substrates, after a liquid crystal is injected into a liquid crystal cell 8, the excess liquid crystal depositing on the injection port is removed by vacuum cleaning or N2 blow cleaning while the substrates are kept in the state as the liquid crystal is injected, namely, not inverted upside down. Then a tray preliminarily prepared by applying a sealing agent 34 on a quartz substrate 31 is pressed to the injection port and irradiated with UV rays at a time to harden the sealing agent. Thus, the period from completion of the injection of the liquid crystal into the all liquid crystal cells to the sealing of the cells is controlled to be the same.
