PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a device compact and lightweight by integrally providing a fixing part for a projection lens projecting color light from a color light separation optical system, for either of a box-like member and a cover-like member. SOLUTION: An optical unit is constituted so that luminous flux is formed into an optical image corresponding to image information and provided with a light guide being as a housing for optical parts. The light guide is constituted of an upper box-like light guide made of resin and a lower cover-like light guide 902 made of magnesium. Then, the guide 902 is integrally provided with a vertical head plate 903 being as the fixing part fixing the projection lens 6. Thereby, the lens 6 can be directly fixed to the light guide. Thus, since the need of a conventionally used supporting member can be eliminated, the device 1 is promoted to be made compact and lightweight. Besides, since the guide 902 provided with the plate 903 is made of metal consisting of magnesium, the heavy lens 6 can be surely supported.
