METHOD AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEM FOR RESOLVING ADDRESS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an address resolution method for a case wherein a mobile packet terminal of a connection-oriented network makes a hand-over by updating the address table of a switch node by sending out a 'groundless ARP' packet which is a kind of ARP request packet. SOLUTION: For example, when a packet terminal MS1A being a moving body is connected to a switch node 6 inside a packet network 7 through an interworking device IWF5A, the packet terminal MS1A makes a hand-over under a base station control unit BSC3B. In this case, the packet terminal MS1A sends a 'groundless ARP' packet of address resolution protocol to an interworking device IWF5B through a base station ratio device BTS2B and the base station control unit BSC3B to inform the interworking device IWF5B of its mobile machine ID and IP address. Consequently, the address table of the switch node 6 is updated.
