PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader which can easily and intuitively designate the main scanning area to a pre-scanned image. SOLUTION: When images of frame unit shown in a pre-scanned image 401 are deviated from the frames 402, the frames 402 are matched with images by moving a frame group by dragging a frame group dragging tab 404. When a frame group fixing pin 402 is not set at dragging the tab 404, the whole frame group moves. When the pin 403 is set, the frame group moves, in such a way that the spaces among the frames expand or contract. When the pin 403 is moved and stopped in the middle of the image 401, the frame group can be moved dividedly.
