PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portrait generation device when a color is compiled and compilation is continued at the time of changing the parts of a face even if the compilation of plotting and coloring is executed on the parts of the face. SOLUTION: Plural images are stored in a parts storage part 1 for the respective types of a face as the parts of the face. A selection part 3 selects the parts of the face in accordance with an instruction from a selection instruction part 2 and sends them to a synthesis part 6. In the synthesis part 6, the parts of the face are arranged in appropriate positions and they are combined into one portrait. It is displayed on a display part 7. The selection part 3 generates a plotting area corresponding to the selected parts of the face. A plotting/ coloring compilation part 4 colors and plots the plotting area and compiles the color. The synthesis part 6 deforms the plotting area so that it is matched with the image of the parts of the face so as to combine them. Then, the compilation of plotting and coloring is continued and the portrait is generated.
