PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a constant tracking control by making correctable the displacement of an objective lens due to the gravity which is generated by the posture of a device. SOLUTION: This device is an optical disk recording and reproducing device which is provided with an optical pickup 6 having an objective lens 3 irradiating an optical disk 1 with a light beam, a light receiving part 5 receiving the light spot of the disk 1 and a tracking actuator 4 moving the pickup (6) in the radial direction of the disk 1 and which turns tracking on by driving the actuator 4 based on the tracking error signal obtained from output signals of the part 5 and, moreover, the device is provided with a light-spot deviation control means 16 which detects the relative displacement of the light spot of the part 5 by the operation of the output signals of the part 5 before turning tracking on and which performs a positioning control by driving the actuator 4 so that this relative displacement becomes constant.
