PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately align two pieces of three-dimensional data obtained from one object body. SOLUTION: In the method for aligning two pieces of three-dimensional data DA and DB obtained from the same object body, one virtual line-of-sight direction MAB is determined on the basis of line-of-sight directions MA and MB of the two pieces of three-dimensional data DA and DB to the object body. Corresponding points Pi and Ti along the virtual line-of-sight direction MAB in the two pieces of three-dimensional data DA and DB are obtained in a range KH in which the two pieces of three-dimensional data MA and MB are superimposed in the virtual line-of-sight direction MAB. The GO/NO-GO of the alignment of each of the three-dimensional data DA and DB is determined on the basis of the average value of the distance|Pi-Ti|between the corresponding points Pi and Ti. In the case that the determination is NO-GO, either three- dimensional data is moved so that the average value of the distance|Pi-Ti|between the corresponding points Pi and Ti may become equal to a predetermined value or less.
