<p>A frame timing distributor (32-9) of an SDH transmitter distributes an intra-transmitter reference frame timing generated by a main signal processing unit (3A/3B) containing interface units (2) to the interface units (2) to minimize the variations of the shifts of the first positions of the frames of the main signals fed from IF boards. Thus, without using pointer processing techniques, the frame timings of the main signals are switched by using a minimum capacity of memory, and the scale of the transmitter is limited to requisite minimum even if the processing channels are increased.</p> |
