Circuit-breaker with electronic microprocessor-controlled release

A circuit-breaker arrangement using an electronic, microprocessor control trip or release (11) and a bypass-circuit (8) for producing a forced release of the circuit-breaker when the set release current is exceeded without resultant release, as well as a watchdog circuit for monitoring the microprocessor function. The bypass-circuit is joined to the watchdog circuit and has a circuit device for controlling the current- and time-dependent- response characteristic (6) of the bypass circuit (8) in dependence of a breakdown or failure of a functional range of the microprocessor signalled by the watchdog circuit.
