The system includes computers which communicate via data networks with users' computers. The independent users' computers are each provided with a browser and are connected in parallel. The users' computers are connected via a common network (7,8) to a computer system including a web server. A program (5) is provided for converting text, audio and video files into a form that can be represented in the browsers. A program (10) is provided for integrating individual independent text, audio and video files into a single file representing closed information content.
