摘要 To transfer a paper web between machine sections, in a papermaking or finishing machine, the web (W) moves at one speed through the first machine section (A) to be transferred to the second machine section (B) where the leader strip moves at a slower speed. At the second machine section (B), the leader strip (TB) is applied to the web (W) independently and without any draw action. The movement speed of the leader strip transferred to the second machine section (B) is increased and a draw force is developed between the leader and the web (W) for transfer at the first machine section. The trailing end of the leader (TB), transferred to the second machine section (B), is at a laying unit (1) to be removed from it when the web is transferred at a movement speed (v1) which is slower than the original movement speed. The laying unit (1) is a roll, separate from the web (W) for transfer in the first machine section (A). The leader (TB) at the second machine section (B) is transferred in a continuous loop, and is narrower than the full width of the web (W). The leader (TB) at the second machine section (B) is bonded by adhesive to the web (W) at the first machine section (A), to apply a draw force on the web. The adhesive is applied such as by a roller (2) which forms a gap for the web with a cylinder. An Independent claim is included for a web transfer assembly with an adhesive bonding unit to attach the leader (TB) at the second machine section (B) to the web (W) at the first machine section (A), to draw the web (W) into the second section (B). Preferred Features: The second machine section (B) has one or more restricted zones along the movement path of the leader (TB) and the web (W) such as a roller gap between calender rollers, a glue press or a coating station. The second machine section (B) has one or more drying groups, or the section (B) is between a final drying group and the web roll winder.
