A turbine generator comprises a cooling water system for cooling the inside of the generator (5) stator winding (6). The cooling water system comprises a water tank (1) and pipes (14,15) which connect it to the stator winding. The cooling water system comprises a water tank (1) and pipes (14,15) which connect it to the stator winding. The pipes are located at the generator inlet and outlet sides. An injection unit for decarbonated air is connected to the pipe at the inlet side, or to the water tank. A heating unit is used to warm the water, and the stator winding has an oxide layer on the surface that comes into contact with water. A control unit ensures that decarbonated air is continuously fed into the cooling water.
