This invention is a balloon device (10) useful for dissecting tissue or retracting tissue for the purpose of providing access for laparoscopic surgery. The device (10) comprising a balloon (20) which inflates to a shape specially suitable for the surgical procedure, and the anatomical region of deployment. The present device (10) when configured with a tapered dissectio n balloon (20) is particularly useful for sub-facial endoscopic perforator surgical procedures.
