<p>A pavement marker (10) for daytime visibility comprises a transparent fluorescent top portion (40) having smooth flat parallel top and bottom surfaces (43, 46) with a front edge (47) therebetween and air interfacing most of the bottom surface (46). Light received by the smooth flat top surface (43) of the top portion (40) is directed internally through the top portion (40) and emitted from the front edge (47), thereby providing a bright daytime signal to drivers of oncoming vehicles.</p> |
