The method for adjusting a rail (1) for a high speed vehicle comprises measuring the gauge of the track and adjusting it to the desired value using an adjusting device fitted to it. An Independent claim is included for a rail mounting comprising a fixing plate (10) which incorporates fine adjusting devices for independently adjusting the rail horizontally and vertically. The fine adjusting device may consist of adjusting screws (28, 29) which act on adjusting strips (30, 31).
