The device includes sensors, an autonomous power supply and an alarm or a connection to a centralized alarm system. At least one motion sensor with an internal evaluation unit is connected to the data processing system. The connecting wires are mounted over the components of the system to be protected. The evaluation unit contains a circuit which detects the signals of the sensors, and transmits them via an independent network to a central office if present. An alarm is triggered by appropriate signals.
