The invention relates to a snap-in device for an operating shaft of a ratchet mechanism. The device comprises an arresting pin (1) which is spring-loaded (2) in the direction of the operating shaft and is guided in a sleeve (7) in the arresting direction, this sleeve interacting with the mechanism housing. According to the invention, the arresting pin (1) is mounted in the sleeve (7) by means of rolling bodies (5), which are guided in a retainer ring (6). At least one spring element (9) is connected to said retainer ring (6) and rests on the inner surface of the sleeve (7) and/or on the cover surface of the arresting pin (1) with pre-stress.
