Braking pressure control device for road vehicle uses hydraulic unit for selective hydraulic amplification of braking pressure for wheel braking cylinders

The brake pressure control device uses a hydraulic unit between the master braking cylinder and the wheel braking cylinders, for hydraulic amplification of the braking pressure using switched valves (ASV,USV,EV) and at least one pump (25,25'). The switching point at which the hydraulic unit is activated and/or de-activated is determined from the time differential of the master braking cylinder pressure, the difference pressure between the low pressure chamber and/or the working chamber of the master braking cylinder and the ambient pressure. An Independent claim for a braking pressure control method is also included.
