The eddy unit, to give a pneumatic eddy effect on yarns at a spinning assembly, has at least one jet body (5) with a yarn channel and blower drillings and at least one beating plate (4). The jet channel is opened and closed by an operating movement in or parallel to the plane formed through the center axis of the yarn channel and the axis in the yarn channel base. The operating unit is a slide (3), lever or change switch. The yarn channel is opened and closed by sliding the beating plate or the jet body. The sliding movement of the jet body also switches the eddy air feed on and off. The position of the yarn guides (7-9) can be adjusted in relation to the yarn channel.
