The lamp arrangement has a high frequency generator (1) connected via current paths (2-4) to a feed arrangement (5,6) with which a high frequency electrical field (E) can be coupled into a fluorescent lamp (7), resulting in light being emitted by the lamp. The current paths run so that a lamp alternating field emitted by the lamp is at least partially compensated for by a path alternating field radiated by the current paths.
