The invention relates to an optical measuring device containing at least one optical sensor, an optical waveguide (30) connected to said optical sensor, and an evaluation unit (70). The optical measuring device is intended for an electrical machine comprising at least one conductor (13, 131, 132) that is pressed into a groove (12) of a base body (11), said groove comprising two groove lateral walls (121, 122). The optical sensor and a part (31) of the optical waveguide (30) that is located in the proximity of said sensor are arranged in the area of the groove (12) on a narrow side (137) of the conductor (13, 131, 132) that faces away from both groove lateral walls (121, 122).
