A rewrite system is characterized in that an information recognition device having an input unit (201), an input information recognition unit (301), and a recognition result output unit (601) further has rewrite means for correcting an error of recognition of input information or converting the recognition to a desired one. The rewrite means corrects an error of recognition of input information by using various methods, referring to a word dictionary, carrying out semantic analysis, and referring to rewrite cases or carries out conversion to a desired recognition. Hence even if the input source is unstable or the environment changes, the rewrite means carries out correction or conversion, for correction and thereby a stable high recognition rate with no practical problem is achieved.
