Method for the electromagnetic detection of conducting objects using a base of stored signals

Conducting objects (5) such as mines are located by towing (4) an antenna (1) which is connected to a power supply and measuring unit (2). Height above the sea bed is maintained by stabilisers (3). The antenna emits a series of electromagnetic pulses and measures the subsequent responses. An average response is calculated and compared to responses stored in a database which relate to the objects sought.
