The fastening for fixing a component (2) to a support (1) consists of a bolt (4) and a nut (3) with a central bulge (8) which is designed to collapse when the tension on it from the bolt reaches a set level e.g. required to lock the fastening. The bulge, made in the shape of a portion of a sphere, cone or ellipsoid, is situated round a central hole (9) in the nut which is at least partly threaded to engage with the bolt. The outer edge (7) of the bulge is cylindrical in shape and joined to a base (12) in contact with the support or integral with it.
