Device for centering and positioning a spectacle glass blank

The centering and positioning apparatus consists of a table with retractable supports (32) for the lens blank (59), and grippers (38, 39) which are able to lift the blank after gripping its edge and retract independently of the supports. The apparatus incorporates a mechanism in the form of rotary rings for opening the grippers simultaneously, and uses a camera and image analyser to control the operation of the support and gripper actuating motors.
