PURPOSE: A multilevel power control method for improving a function of a CDMA cellular wireless packet communication system is provided to embody a system easily by using only one bit for a power control order, and to decrease an interference efficiently by decreasing a load of a control channel for transferring the power control order. CONSTITUTION: It is checked whether a present order information is an increase order or a decrease order or not(203). If the present order information is the increase order, a transmission output is increased as much as a fixed quantity with a previous transmission output as a starting point(204). If the present order information is the decrease order, the transmission output is decreased as much as the fixed quantity with the previous transmission output as a starting point(205). When a new power control order is received, a bit information before one step is updated as an order bit information of a present step, and a mobile station transmission output before one step is updated as a mobile station transmission output of a present step(207). Next, it is checked whether directions of the new power control order bit and the present power control order bit are same or not(208). When the directions of the new power control order bit and the present power control order bit are same, It is checked whether the present order information is the increase order or the decrease order or not(203). The transmission output is increased or decreased according to the increase order or the decrease order(210,211). |
