PURPOSE: A robot with an improved head is provided to promptly and precisely control elevating height and speed of an adsorbing nozzle, and to reduce inertia force through reducing weight of the head. CONSTITUTION: A head(31) is moved by screw shafts(37) installed on an X-axis arm and a Y-axis arm of a robot. An adsorbing nozzle(33) adsorbs a components for operating a cylinder(34) to elevate the adsorbing nozzle. Then, the X-axis arm and the Y-axis arm are operated for moving the head to X-axis or Y-axis. After completing movement of the head, the cylinder is operated for lowering the adsorbing nozzle. Then, the nozzle releases the component. Movement of the head does not affects a spline on a spline shaft(42). In case of change in thickness of the component, a motor(41) elevates or lowers the cylinder for the adsorbing nozzle to adsorb the components by moving the cylinder.
