In-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) channels in a mobile unit are coded (13) producing digital word and command elements. Coded signals are passed to a code production unit, which forms spread spectrum codes attributable to the I and Q channels. The digital word elements, command elements and spread spectrum codes correspond to points in the same position and symmetrical with respect to a zero point on the phase domain. The elements are applied to a spread spectrum generator producing the signal modulation.
