A detector (30) senses speed reduction of any thread (100) relative to its nominal value. Preferred features: The wheel visible on the detector unit (30), is rotated by a thread (100) in tangential contact. The detection system reveals any wheel deceleration. A further variant based on the foregoing principles is described.
