Cover lock mechanism for vehicle engine bay electrical components

A closing fixture holds two components (2,3), one (3) of which is hinged (6) on and moves with respect to the other (2). The outer e.g. housing (3) has a spindle with a cam. When the cover (3) is rotated and closed on the base (2) the spindle locates in a larger recess within the base. Rotation of the spindle applies the cam to the recess inner face, locking the two parts together.
