PURPOSE: A duty controlling method for an idle speed controller is provided to control the duty state of the idle speed controller even though an idle control duty measured in case of cranking state is smaller than an idle control duty measured in case of normal state. CONSTITUTION: A duty controlling method for an idle speed controller includes the steps of comparing an idle control duty measured in a cranking state and an idle control duty measured in a normal state(S105), decreasing the idle control duty measured in the cranking state by a predetermined duty if the idle control duty measured in the cranking state is larger than the other(S107), comparing the decreased idle control duty with the idle control duty measured in the normal state(S109), increasing the decreased idle duty by a predetermined duty if the decreased idle control duty is smaller than the other, comparing the increased idle control duty with the idle control duty measured in the normal state and setting the idle control duty measured in the cranking state and increased or decreased by the comparison as a final idle control duty to control the idle speed controller(S115).
