PURPOSE: An opening and closing device for the sun roof of a vehicle is provided to open and close the sun roof with power and to reduce a raw cost by being simplified. CONSTITUTION: An opening and closing device for a sun roof comprises a pusher(32) opening a sun roof(31) with an open spring(32a), between a roof panel(30) and the sun roof; a shock absorber(34) buffering a shock applied to the sun roof, in the opposite side of the pusher; a locker(36) pushed by the closing sun roof to an unlocking position and hung on hanging grooves(35a,35b) when the sun roof is completely closed; a releasing solenoid(40) releasing the locker from the hanging grooves while excited, with a locking spring(42) pushing the locker to the hanging grooves; and a push switch(50) forming a closed circuit or an open circuit connected from battery power to the releasing solenoid.
