The invention relates to a weighing device for the continuous determination of the mass per unit area of fibre material in the form of a band or web which is supplied from a fibre-processing machine or a fibre material container positioned upstream of the weighing device to same and after weighing evacuated from the weighing device to a fibre-processing machine or a fibre material delivery section positioned downstream of the weighing device. Said weighing device comprises two weighing arms (2, 2') of which one (2) is assigned to the supply device and the other (2') to the output device. At the ends of both the supply side and the output side the weighing arms (2, 2') are mounted such that they can be pivoted about a fixed axle (21, 21'), the other end of the weighing arms (2, 2') being supported on a weighing element (3, 3').
