<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position information input device which is excellent in operability and also can operate an image displayed on a display device in three-dimensional directions. SOLUTION: This position information input device consists of a box-shaped device main body 3 having 1st and 2nd operation reference planes 1 and 2 crossing at an obtuse angle, 1st and 2nd moving detection mechanisms 4 and 5 provided on the respective operation reference planes 1 and 2, a rotation detection mechanism 6 provided on the upper face of the body 3 and an information transmitting cord 7 transmitting output signals from the respective mechanisms 4 to 6 to a computer. The respective mechanisms 4 to 6 are composed of a track ball. An image can be moved on an XY plane by operating the body 3 in an inclined state toward the plane 1 side, and the image can be moved on an XZ plane by operating the body 3 in an inclined state toward the plane 2 side. Also, the image can be turned around an X axis, a Y axis and a Z axis by rotating the mechanism 6 in the directions of a PITCH, a YAW and a ROLL.</p> |
