PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain correct measurement results by applying a time function of a part between pulses of a transmission waveform, a time function of an actually measured OTDR(optical time domain reflectometry) distribution and a convolution calculation symbol to a specific expression and correct the OTDR distribution. SOLUTION: When a time constant of a part between pulses of a transmission waveform isε, a time function of an actually measured OTDR distribution is F, and a convolution calculation symbol isχ, the OTDR distribution is corrected with the use of an expression (F-F*ε+F*εχε-...). The correction is enough to include at least a primary correction (F-F*ε). It is also effective to include a secondary correction (F-F*ε+F*ε*ε). Practically, the calculation is better to be finished at a necessary degree. The correction process can obtain a natural impulse response distribution of an object 2 to be measured.
