PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an operator to confirm a result of color balance adjustment on a TV monitor for reproducing an endoscope image on the basis of an analog color video signal in the case of applying the color balance adjustment to a digital color video signal. SOLUTION: Both an analog video signal output system and a digital video signal output system are provided to the image signal processing unit. The analog video signal output system is provided with changeover switch circuits 48R, 48G, 48B and when color balance adjustment is applied to a digital color video signal, the changeover switch circuits are switched only for a prescribed time to give the digital color video signal to the analog video signal output system and then the endoscope image on the basis of the digital color video signal is displayed on the TV monitor for the prescribed time only.
