PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set the starting time of intermittent oscillation with small loss and in a short time. SOLUTION: As a starting circuit for supplying the starting current to the gate of a FET for switching, a circuit 2 for rectifying and smoothing the AC voltage generated by a primary winding L3 of a transformer and a second starting circuit, consisting of resistors R1, R2 along with a resistor R and a diode D for applying the DC voltage output from the rectifying and smoothing circuit 2 to the gate of a FET 3, are installed. When the FET is switched intermittently by a control circuit 1, by making the resistance value of a resistor R4 lower to increase the starting current from the rectifying and smoothing circuit 2, accelerates the starting time of the FET at intermittent switchings is accelerated and the intermittent switching cycle is shortened to improve the intermittent oscillation characteristics. Since the voltage output from the rectifying and smoothing circuit 2 is low, power loss can be suppressed low, even if the resistance value of the resistor R4 is made lower.
