A space heating system (4) complete with heat producer (5) and service water storage (3) is coupled to a solar collector (1) via a circuited buffer storage (2) and the service water storage (3) lies above the buffer (2) and is designed as a double-walled storage tank (18) with exchange space (6). A feed line (15) from buffer storage (2) to storage tank (3) enters at the top of the exchange space (6). A return (9) to the buffer (2) is arranged in the bottom of space (6) via a circuited thermostat-regulating valve (7) as against the return (9) from the heating system (4), which connects to the bottom region of the buffer storage (2). Line (14) connects the ex-heater (5) feed (10) to the service water tank (3) feed (15) and the system (4) feed and return (9,10) are connected to one another via line (16) and so bypassing the heat producer (5).
