METHOD FOR SEARCHING PHYSIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE SUBSTANCE

A method for searching a substance which specifically inhibits the NF- kappa B activation pathway. More particularly, a method for screening a substance which specifically inhibits exclusively one of the pathway activated by stimulating cells with interleukin 1 beta or tumor necrosis factor alpha and the pathway activated by stimulating cells with leustrodaxin compounds, among the intracellular pathways activating a promoter gene having NF- kappa B-binding site. By using this method, substances useful as anti-inflammatory agents or starting materials for producing compounds useful as antiarteriosclerotics can be obtained.
