PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide image communication equipment capable of faithfully restoring and outputting an image file attached to transmission information at a facsimile equipment side. SOLUTION: When an e-mail is transmitted to facsimile equipment by utilizing an NTT(Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp.) facsimile network, an image file to be attached is prepared, and whether the prepared image file is a file that can be subjected to magnification is discriminated (steps S1 and S2). When the prepared image file can be subjected to magnification, a GIF format is selected as the format of the prepared image file, and the prepared image file is converted into an image file of the GIF format (step S3). When the prepared image file cannot be subjected to magnification, the PRN format of the facsimile equipment of a transmission destination is selected as the format of the prepared image file, and the prepared image file is converted into the image file of the PRN format (step S4).
