PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a screen device which has excellent flatness like that of a stretch type screen, is small in a housing space like a roll screen type, allows the constitution of an ultra-large-sized screen, allows the constitution of a screen exclusive of a rectangular screen like a dome shape of a semicircular shape, etc., and is capable of enhancing the stage effect of videos in an event hall, etc. SOLUTION: This large-sized screen device of a folding type is constituted by forming the screen 1 to be hung and supported between a ceiling and a floor so as to have flexibility, fixing transverse supporting rod bodies (2) at plural points apart suitable intervals in a vertical direction in a developed state on the rear surface side of the screen, connecting linkage wires 5 of lengths corresponding to the spacings described above between the adjacent upper and lower transverse supporting rod bodies, connecting lifting wires 7 continuous with a lifting drive section (9) to the transverse supporting rod bodies existing in the uppermost stage or lowermost stage and constituting a housing section of the screen on the floor side or the ceiling side.
