PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the communication cost by informing a caller side that this terminal has an Internet connecting function when called, informing a called side URL for image information acquisition when the destination is called by using a public network, and quitting the call operation when information showing that the Internet connecting function is available is received from the called side. SOLUTION: When a reception side is informed of the URL for image information acquisition and the mail address of a delivery information destination, transmission-side network facsimile equipment converts transmit image information into image data in specific TIFF-F format. Then the image data are transferred to a server corresponding to the URL reported to the reception side by using FTP. Reception-side network facsimile equipment, on the other hand, accesses the reported URL by using the FTP or HTTP protocol specified at the URL to obtain a distributed image information file and output it on a plotter 6.
