A tangential swirl chamber unit (13) is located in the run of fibers between the collective fiber guide (11) and the treatment unit (2). Treatment signifies e.g. a controlled degree of fiber-stretching. For each fiber, the swirler (13) has a channel with a nozzle discharging into it. Preferred features: The fiber channels of the swirler are closely-spaced. The fiber spacing (AB) is the same in the treatment unit. It is less than 10 mm, preferably less than 6 mm. Open insertion slots extending along the entire length of one side of the swirler unit, are provided for thread insertion. Each insertion slot branches within the unit, to reach two adjacent channels, for threading. A guide rod with a groove for each fiber, follows the swirler. Fibers leaving the spinning unit (1) occupy a spinning plane. Fibers in the treatment unit occupy a treatment plane. Spinning- and treatment planes include an angle set by relation of these units. A deflection rod ahead of the collective fiber guide, forms a deflection plane, intervening between spinning- and treatment planes. Collective fiber guide and swirler are located in the treatment plane, or between deflection- and treatment planes. Deflection rod, collective fiber guide and swirler are mounted on a carrier. This pivots between treatment and spinning planes. A fiber collection unit is located ahead of the collective fiber guide. This comprises a grooved fiber guide with cutter and suction system. The guide can be driven to gather and cut the fibers. Fiber guide and cutter are located after of the deflection rod. The suction unit is located ahead of the deflection rod. The fiber gathering unit is mounted on the support. The treatment system comprises drawing- (16) and stretching- (17) units. Each unit includes a driven- (19, 20) and an idling- (18, 21) roller. Between rollers (20, 21) of the stretching unit (17), there is a second swirler unit acting on fibers ahead of the final wrap, before run off. The collective fiber guide is ceramic and has one groove per fiber, groove spacing corresponding with the treatment spacing (AB).
