PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an information transmission system of point/multipoint connection in an ATM network in which a transmission path is efficiently utilized and the connection mode can be changed freely. SOLUTION: A transmission terminal 101 acting as a data transmission source and three reception terminals 102, 103, 104 receiving information are connected to an ATM network 106. A connection management server 105 conducts connection management in a point/multipoint connection. The terminal 101 receives the destination information of a terminal which acts as an information transfer destination before the start of information transfer from the connection management server 105 and sets up the connection establishment or release setting according to the list the information.
