PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of organic electroluminescence with high emitting color purity by patterning light emitting layers in the order starting from the low ones. SOLUTION: When a positive hole transport layer is formed in advance, in the structure of a thin film layer, and a light emitting layer is formed thereon, the emission of the component evaporated former becomes conspicuous, since the emission is most active in the interface between both the layer. Therefore, the light emitting layers are preferably evaporated in the order of luminous efficiency from the lower one. When the luminous efficiencies of emitting colors are about equal, the one having higher emission energy is desirably formed first. This is effective in an organic electroluminescence characterized by high precision, which is formed with a close distance between adjacent electrodes as a gap width of a first electrode of 50μm or less. As the material of the light emitting layer, for example, a quinolinol derivative, such as 8- hydroxyquinone aluminum, a bisstyryl anthracene derivative, or the like, is usable. As the cathode forming the second electrode, any material which can efficiently implant electrons to the light emitting layer may be used.
