PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: When a female side housing 20 and an equipment side housing 10 are in a regular combination, a control groove 24D of a retainer 24 (wrong fitting control means) of the female side housing 20 fits to a rib 16 (wrong fitting control means) of the equipment side housing 10 for allowing both housings 10, 20 to fit, but when in an improper combination the rib 16 runs against the female side housing 20 for controlling the fitting. Since the retainer 24 being the false fitting control means, is formed as a separate part from housing bodies 21, even if there are a plurality of fitting combinations of the housings 10, 20, the housing bodies 21 are manufactured by one metal mold as common parts. Since the shape of the retainer is simpler than that of the housing bodies 21, the cost of the metal mold for the retainer 24 is kept low.
